Villa Colle Ramole

The stunning and unique Villa Colle Ramole luxury villa to rent in Tuscany is ideally situated just 6 kms south of the centre of Florence, at the gateway of the beautiful Chianti countryside. The estate is composed of a 14th Century hamlet, surrounded by rolling green hills lined with cypresses, and with 30 acres of vineyards, olive groves, forest and a lake.  With views to Florence, the property epitomises the true postcard image of Tuscany! During the XV century, the hamlet was owned by the Ghirlandaio family, the most well-known Renaissance family of painters, and where many apprentices, including Michelangelo, learned the fine art of painting.  Many other prominent artists of the Renaissance, including Raffaello, Pontormo and Botticelli, were also entertained here.

With 20 bedrooms (18 double rooms and 2 single rooms) in the five buildings that comprise the hamlet, the property can accommodate up to 44 guests. There is also a consecrated Chapel with frescoes by Ridolfo del Ghirlandaio, which makes the property a perfect setting for memorable intimate weddings, events or family gatherings for up to 40 people. In the gardens, there are two outdoor swimming pools (one can be heated on request), as well as a wellness centre with Turkish bath, Sauna, Jacuzzi and emotional shower, and a mini-gym.  The hamlet also has its own restaurant, La Locanda.

The interiors have been beautifully refurbished with restored antiques, and luxury finishing touches. The Main Building (originally Ghirlandaio’s residence) has five bedrooms and overlooks a private garden and swimming pool.  There are four bedrooms in the Fattoria and two in the Bottego, which was originally used as a showroom for art. The Frantoio used to be the building where olives were pressed to obtain the fine extra virgin olive oil, and has three bedrooms, as well as a dependence with one bedroom. Finally there is the Studio, which used to be the building where the Ghirlandaio family practiced and studied painting, which has four bedrooms. The luxurious marble bathrooms have either rain showers or bath tubs, and toiletries, slippers, bathrobes and hairdryer are provided. Further amenities include air conditioning (in all rooms except bathrooms), a safe, Wi-Fi and an in-wall USB plug charger. The bedrooms can be made up as king-size or twin beds. Flat-screen LCD televisions with international channels are in the villas’ living rooms. Further amenities include heating and air conditioning, private safes, and Wi-Fi broadband internet access indoors and outdoors, as well as an in-wall USB plug charger

Main Building

The accommodation here is on three floors and offers 5 bedrooms with king-size beds, each with en-suite bathroom. The master bedroom is the only room on the top floor and it has a 360° magnificent view over the whole property, to Florence in the distance. The ground floor has 2 living rooms, a dining room that can seat up to 12 people, and a kitchen. There is also a dependence (Limonaia), with king-size bed. There is direct access to the SPA from the main building.

Fattoria:

The 4 bedrooms here are all on the top floor and all have en-suite bathrooms.2 king size bedrooms and 1 queen size Bedroom and 1 single room On the ground floor is a living room that is used to welcome guests, and a room to have wine or olive oil tastings. The Manager’s Study is also here, and the famous Chapel frescoed by Ridolfo del Ghirlandaio.

Bottega:

In the Bottega there is a large and comfortable living room and two bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom.

Frantoio:

There are two living rooms and 3 bedrooms here (2 with king-size beds and one single room) one of which shares the bathroom with the main bedroom. The Frantoio also has an external dependence with bedroom (king-size bed) with its own bathroom.

Studio:

The studio has a comfortable living room and 4 bedrooms (3 with king-size beds, and 1 single room), one of which shares its bathroom with the main bedroom.
